Florence is such a beautiful city. The Ponte Vecchio is this charming historic bridge full of picturesque sunshine-colored shops, spilling over the sides of the bridge. Italy was an extremely difficult place to take photos, because we visited three very popular cities (Rome, Venice, and Florence), and there was not an inch of free walkway anywhere for a photo, let alone a place free of tourists blocking the view of the beautiful sights. So how did we manage to get a tourist-free photo near the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi museum you say? We left the apartment just before sunrise, and got set up just as the sun was high enough for pictures. We still had to find a quiet corner, but I’m so glad we were able to get pictures at all to remember our time in Italy! Plus, we thought of this trick because Florence is the only European city Nicole had ever been to before, and she had gone out at the break of dawn eight years ago to take photos in the same place. It made it all the more special!
